Project Background
As an important device for modern driving, the most important function of a dash cam is to shoot videos, transmit images to image sensors through lenses, record images, positions, motion status and other information during driving, record moments of the journey, and provide effective evidence for traffic accident identification, or provide protection evidence in cases of illegal tracking and theft. However, faced with a wide range of homogeneous products on the market, the customer wanted to design a differentiated dash camera that is competitive, powerful, and easy to operate.
Product Research & Design
In addition to the basic functions of the car video camera, the following three functions are added to achieve differentiation of the dash cam and improve the competitiveness of the product.
1. Real-time synchronous 4K/2K/1080P high-definition recording of the front, inside and rear three lenses
2. Real-time viewing and downloading of videos via mobile phone APP
3. Intelligent motion detection, automatically start recording when the car dash camera detects a moving object.
Solutions
1. Realize real-time synchronous 4K/2K/1080P high-definition recording of the front, inner and rear lenses
Hardware configuration:
High-performance processor: Select the latest chip of Novatek, a high-performance processor with high cost performance and multi-channel video processing capabilities, to ensure that it can simultaneously process high-resolution video recording of the front, inner and rear lenses.
High-definition lens module: The front lens uses a 4K high-definition camera, the inner lens uses a 2K camera, and the rear lens uses a 1080P camera. Select high-quality sensors (such as Sony IMX series) and lens components to ensure video clarity and color accuracy.
Software optimization:
Multi-channel video synchronization algorithm: Develop a multi-channel video synchronization recording algorithm to ensure synchronization of recording images of different lenses.
Video encoding optimization: Use H.265 video encoding technology to improve video compression efficiency while maintaining high-quality images.
2. Realize real-time viewing and downloading of videos on mobile APP
Real-time transmission module: Integrated high-speed Wi-Fi module to support real-time video transmission.
APP development: Develop an APP module that supports real-time video preview, connect to the dashcam via Wi-Fi, and view the front, interior, and rear video images in real time.
Video management function: The APP has built-in video download and management functions, and users can easily browse, download, and manage video files.
Secure communication:
Data encryption: SSL/TLS encryption technology is used to ensure the security of video data during transmission.
3. The image sensor and algorithm are used to detect motion changes in the picture, and when motion is detected, recording or shooting is automatically triggered.
Extended Function
1.GPS positioning: Equipped with a high-precision GPS module, it can obtain vehicle location information in real time, track the vehicle's driving trajectory through GPS positioning, automatically associate driving data with geographic location, and monitor driving records in real time.
2.G-Sensor gravity sensor: During driving, G-Sensor can detect sudden acceleration, braking or collision of the vehicle, and automatically save the video at that time to prevent it from being overwritten.
3.RT8189 WiFi module: Supports 2.4GHz WiFi band and provides stable wireless connection. Supports 802.11b/g/n standards and can achieve wireless transmission rates of up to 150Mbps.
4.Data protection function: Protect stored data to prevent unauthorized access and data leakage. Back up data to the cloud or other storage devices regularly to ensure that data is not lost due to equipment failure. Automatically lock video files when key events (such as collision, motion detection) occur to prevent them from being overwritten or deleted.
The above functions can be extended to electronic devices such as sports cameras and dashcam car cameras.
